In the sweltering heat, this Mesa home’s old aluminum windows left a lot to be desired. The 25-year-old builder-grade windows were tired and inefficient. They contributed to an uncomfortably warm home in hot Arizona summers and poor curb appeal. The homeowners turned to Pella to help them find a more energy efficient solution to finish the look of their living room.

Energy-Efficient Windows Improve Home’s Comfort

The homeowners selected wood windows to make their living room more comfortable and energy efficient. Wood is a natural insulator and paired with Low-E glass optimized for their southwestern climate, the windows help reduce the transfer of heat from the outside to the inside of the home. The glass also blocks most of the sun’s harmful UV rays. The result is a more comfortable living area the homeowners can enjoy year-round.

Sleek Wood Windows Improve Curb Appeal

One of the challenges in replacing the windows on this 25-year-old home was determining how each of the window units should be split up. With the aid of their local window expert, they decided on Pella Reserve – Contemporary casement windows. They feature sleek frames and more visible glass for a contemporary look from the street. A three-wide casement window combination with a fixed casement in the middle and picture windows above was selected. On the interior, they selected hardware in a contrasting finish to the window’s interior to add a visual pop.

Upon completion, both the homeowner and our team were deeply satisfied with the new look and enhanced performance.
