Pella Windows & Doors of Oklahoma team members recently participated in CANstruction OKC. This is our sixth year partnering with GSB Architecture.
Pella Oklahoma's can structure
CANstruction OKC is a unique canned food drive where teams made up of engineers, designers and contractors design and build structures made entirely out of canned food. All the food and money raised is donated to the Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma. This year's theme was “How Big CAN You Dream: Oklahoma Innovation.” We chose a rocket ship and the tag line “Fly Hunger to the Moon,” because Air Force officer and NASA astronaut Tom Stafford was born in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
"This is something we love participating in to give back to the community. It fulfills our company philosophy of service above self," says Pella of Oklahoma's Marketing Coordinator, Kathryn Nash.
Our creative can structure, "Fly Hunger to the Moon," won two awards during this year's event: Best Use of Labels and Best Structural Ingenuity. It's a fun event that our team looks forward to every year.
