Winter is upon us, so you better replace your windows before it gets too cold outside, right? Actually, it’s not true that you cannot replace your windows during the cold winter months or that window companies don’t offer replacements during winter. Pella Omaha offers window replacement year-round, and replacing windows during the winter is no different for the customer than replacing windows during any other time of year.

“A lot of people think winter means we can’t install windows,” says Aaron Neuroth, Retail Sales Manager for Pella Windows & Doors of Omaha. “But it’s not true. The reality is if we’re not installing windows it’s typically because the customers think we won’t, not because we don’t want to or aren’t able to.”

The caulking that Pella Omaha’s staff use can cure all the way down to zero degrees, so it will work even in the middle of winter. There are typically about 5-10 days per year where Pella Omaha’s staff feel like it is too cold or unsafe to be able to replace windows.

Another issue people are often concerned about is their home becoming very cold because of all the windows being taken out. This is again untrue. “We’re very careful too as we go around. We take one window out and put another one in as we go,” says Neuroth. People may think all of their windows will be out at the same time, but this is not the case.

So even if you forgot or became too busy during the summer to replace your windows, it is not too late. There is no need to wait until next summer when your schedule is filled up again, your kids are home from school, everyone is fighting for your attention, you’re trying to schedule a vacation, and you have a laundry list of chores to complete before it’s too late. You can schedule your windows to be replaced when it fits into your schedule—even in the middle of winter.
