posted on in Pittsburgh

Our sales team sees some of the best and newest trends when they’re out spending time with their customers and helping them to replace their windows and doors. They’re all throughout our city each and every day both seeing and installing some of the newest, most modern trends. When it comes to modernizing and updating your home, you couldn’t take advice from a better source! Luckily we’re curating the month’s trends that we’ve noticed, just for you in Pittsburgh, every single month. This month’s trend? Opening up your space with more glass in your windows and doors!installing windows

The amount of light that’s let into your home can really affect not only the mood of your home, but your mood as well. This can be especially true in the summer, when you’re more inclined to want to bring the outside in and really let light infiltrate and fill your home. This project we did in Pittsburgh really exemplifies this as the homeowner had a beautiful living room with very little light being let into the space. This affected the room and the homeowner’s love of the room. Adding more light opened up the room and allowed the space to breathe.

Another way to open up a room is to replace with a bow or bay window. Bow and bay windows are great about letting light in but they also affect the space in a home as well. Both types of window protrude out from the outer wall and actually literally open up a room. Sometimes this can even provide additional seating in a room as well.

If you’re not looking for a bay or bow window, sometimes taking a window opening that has two or three small windows in it and instead replacing it with one larger window can really open up a space as well. This happens because you’re eliminating the site lines that break up the view.

If you’re looking to open up your space but aren’t sure just quite how you’d like to do so, give our sales reps a call. They see homeowners open up their spaces in a million different ways and might just have the right solution for your home.
