Located just 15 miles Northwest of Boston sits the affluent Weston, Massachusetts. The quaint New England town boasts over 300 years of history in local landmarks and homes spread across the countryside. The architect for this Weston home, Wolf Architects, was looking for a window company that could provide a high quality, customizable window solution that would balance the two different styles of the house. They came to Pella to bring the vision to life for their esteemed clients.

Custom Wood Windows Blend Contemporary and Traditional Styles

This one-of-a-kind home in Weston is anything but boring. The two-story dwelling mixes traditional and contemporary home styles seamlessly. Maintaining the structural integrity and style of the home was crucial to the architect’s design and homeowner’s vision. They ended up incorporating Pella Reserve – Traditional and Contemporary wood windows into the home, known for their authentic designs with uncompromised attention to detail.

The modern black window exteriors pop against the minimalist concrete and wood siding on the exterior of the home. The durable aluminum-cladding on the exterior helps protect the windows from the harsh New England winters. By contrast, the windows feature white painted interiors for a timeless, traditional nod. These colors and copious amounts of glass make the interior of the home light and airy.

Floor-to-Ceiling Windows and Patio Doors Create Walls of Glass

The master bedroom in the main section of the house, which can be seen best from the rear of the property, showcases a traditional style with classic Pella Reserve double-hung windows and sliding patio doors with a single horizontal grille. The expansive windows and patio doors reach from the floor to the ceiling. They create a serene escape for the homeowners by inviting the landscape and an abundance of natural light in. Additionally, the sliding patio doors in the home feature a Rolscreen® retractable screen, a self-storing sliding patio door screen that rolls away when not in use, preserving sightlines.

Contemporary lines and sharp corners envelope the traditional section of the house. It is accented by casement windows and picture windows with a modern black exterior and a timeless white interior.

Wolf Architects, Inc. did a great job working with our Pella team on the structural integrity of the windows, ensuring they really stand out. The result is a stunning dwelling that showcases both contemporary and traditional styles, seamlessly.
