Boley Family Leadership at Pella Windows & Doors of Central Iowa
In 1974, Chris Boley returned to Iowa and settled in Des Moines. He started working for J.E. Hammer and Son, who had five team members at the time. With such a small team, Chris learned the business firsthand by completing an array of tasks, including selling, loading and unloading the truck, assembly, delivery, service and anything else required of him.
Dick Franklin became the owner of what is now called Prairie Pella in 1979. Inspired by his previous experience and driven to lead, Chris purchased shares and became office manager, sales manager and, eventually, general manager. When Dick retired in 1985, Chris then became sole owner.
Chris' sons, Jered and Jordan Boley, have since joined him at Prairie Pella. Jered first started at the company part-time in 1993. Beginning his full-time career with Pella in 2002, Jered supported inside sales before transitioning to become a trade sales representative. From 2011-2016, he managed the retail sales division. Jered rounded out his trade and commercial knowledge from 2017-2018 and now uses his experience as the general manager overseeing operations.
After graduating college, Jordan started his professional career in Seattle with Xerox. Later, in 2012, he joined Prairie Pella, serving as a replacement representative for five years. He took home President's Club honors four times for his outstanding sales and service performance and was promoted to replacement sales manager, a role he excelled in for two and a half years. In 2019, Jordan became general manager of sales.
Guided by steadfast Boley family leadership, Prairie Pella has continued growing and evolving. A year after Jered joined his father, the team expanded, purchasing Quad Cities Distributors. And in 2010, Prairie Pella expanded again, acquiring Wyoming Pella. Now, with the recent adoption of Gino Wickman's Traction Entrepreneurial Operating System, the branch continues to build on a history of operational excellence throughout the business to surpass customer expectations.
