Project Details

Built in 1989, this West Des Moines home boasted original windows that served their purpose for over 30 years. While the old windows were effective in their prime, the homeowners were looking for more efficient windows with a fresh, yet timeless look. They connected with Pella Windows and Doors of Central Iowa in Des Moines to handle the window replacement project.

Personizable Wood Windows Offer Design Flexibility

When it came time to select new windows for the home, the Pella representative listened intently to the homeowners’ wants and lifestyle needs. Hearing that they desired unique shapes and sizes in a specific color, the Pella expert recommended wood windows which offer the most personalization options. A variety of Pella® Lifestyle Series windows were ultimately used in the project, including casement, awning and picture windows. These windows were custom made to fit the existing openings of the home, keeping construction work minimal.

Inside the home, the factory prefinished wood interior furthers the traditional aesthetic by bringing natural beauty and warmth. On the outside, the windows feature almond-colored, aluminum cladding to complement the grout lines of the brick home. The aluminum cladding offers protection from the elements, resisting the effects of moisture, decay and termite damage. This provides peace of mind to the homeowners knowing the windows are built to stand up to everyday life demands.

Arch Windows Further Traditional Style

The new windows deliver the refreshed look that the homeowner desired, without compromising on the traditional aesthetic of the home. The arch windows add design interest to the home, beautifully balancing graceful curves and sharp edges. The elegant arches elevate the home’s aesthetic and create a soft, welcoming look. As a timeless design element, these traditional windows will look great and function well for years to come.
