POSTED ON September 12, 2017 in Pella Windows & Doors of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana Project Scope Type: Home/Residence Industry: Retail Location: Chicago Age of Structure: 1950 Area of Structure Involved: Dining room Window Materials Used: Wood double hung windows - Architect Series®BeforeAfterThe homeowners of this 1950s Chicago, IL home were looking for an updated look and improved energy efficiency. Their existing windows were drafty, old, and dated the look of the dining room. The double hung windows on either side of the door were actually mulled together with the hinged patio door even though you could not tell that from the outside. So to install this properly we could not do an easy pocket replacement on the windows - we had to go down to the rough opening for both products! We exceeded at improving the overall look of the home and gave the homeowners energy efficient products without taking away the look of the home.
