Pella Windows Restore Wayne County Courthouse

Posted on June 03, 2019 in Pella Windows & Doors of Northeastern Pennsylvania

The Wayne County Courthouse in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, is undergoing some big changes. The building, which dates back to 1880, has never had any real updates — until now. The courthouse upgrade includes new carpet, a new ceiling, upgraded heating and cooling systems, and new windows.

New Pella wood windows (bottom) match the timeless charm and unique shape of the originals (top).

Currently, the courthouse still has all of its original windows. As windows have broken over the years, postal tape has been applied on the inside and outside to hold them together. New Pella windows will maintain the charm of the storied building while bringing it up to date. The all new energy-efficient Pella windows will also help save the county money in the long run.

Local Pella sales representative Geoff Brock was integral to securing the project. John Perry is the contractor completing the work at the courthouse. “We selected Pella Windows for this project because we’ve worked with them for over 10 years now,” Perry says. “We know the quality is good, the installation is great, and they stand by their work. That’s more important than anything.”

New windows along with the other improvements bring the more-than-a-century-old building up to today’s standards, so the citizens of Wayne County can continue to enjoy the building for another 130 years.
