After 80 years of life as a convent, Villa Teresa had been sitting vacant since 2012. Once the property was purchased, the owners committed to bringing new life to its historic grounds. Now, the area is home to beautiful, spacious flats and tri-level townhomes in the core of bustling Oklahoma City. Their contemporary architecture presents a modern reflection of a historic neighborhood — an effort to preserve and protect the site's story.
For the new residences, the customer wanted windows and doors with a contemporary look featuring modern, straight lines, which are reflected in the horizontal grille patterns of the sliding doors.
Despite the stunning results, this project wasn't without challenges. Installing large sliding doors on the third story was no easy feat in the Oklahoma wind. Plus, the proximity of the buildings to one another made maneuvering the lift and basket during the installation process a challenge.
