Culture, cuisine and cowboys, Oklahoma City has it all. The bustling city is the state’s largest and is home to more than 1.4 million people. The city’s crisp winters and warm summers were leaving these Oklahoma City homeowners yearning for a better solution. In the winter, the old aluminum windows let the home’s precious heat escape and, in the summer, the harsh southern sun beats in making it uncomfortably warm. The homeowners came to Pella of Oklahoma to find energy-efficient windows and doors that would both modernize the home and significantly improve its comfort.

Energy-Efficient Windows Make Home More Comfortable

To make the home more comfortable and help lower energy bills, we replaced windows throughout the home with a combination of energy efficient windows made of vinyl and wood. On the rear of the home, adjacent to the patio door, we replaced the inefficient living room windows with energy-efficient vinyl picture windows. The multi-chambered frames help reduce the heat that is transferred across the window, making the home more comfortable year-round in the sunny city. Sealed closed, the picture windows help lower the home’s utility bills.

Elsewhere in the home, we replaced the old aluminum windows with Pella Lifestyle Series casement windows. Pella Lifestyle Series windows are exceptionally energy efficient with dual-pane and triple-pane options to fit every home style.

French Sliding Door Creates Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Living

With plans for a large patio and pool in the backyard underway, the homeowners also wanted to improve the functionality of their living space in addition to energy efficiency. They removed a door and multiple fixed windows on the back of the house to make way for a 17-foot Pella Reserve – Contemporary sliding glass door system that provides easy access to the patio, pool and backyard area. The contemporary 4-panel French sliding patio door can be opened wide to create a larger entertaining space. When closed, the large doors still allow copious amounts of natural light to stream in, creating a wall of glass.

With a whole home of new windows and doors, these Oklahoma City homeowners can finally enjoy their home and new backyard oasis comfortably.
