SERVING OKLAHOMA FAMILIES WITH QUALITY WINDOW & DOOR PRODUCTS SINCE 1922
In 1922, Murray R. Womble founded his builder’s hardware and construction products company located in Tulsa OK. His guiding principle was: To sincerely and honestly serve the building industry in such a manner as to accomplish complete, mutual confidence and satisfaction. Nearly a Century later, The Womble Company is still doing that and helping thousands of Oklahoma families enjoy the home of their dreams with quality Pella windows and doors.
The company began by selling commercial steel windows, eventually expanding its operation in the 1930s and 1940s to add a variety of other products and expanding lines of windows. In 1949, the fourth generation of Womble family members joined the company when David and Gene entered. Near this same time, the Tulsa branch grew so large that they needed larger facilities and moved to 216 E. 16th St., in Tulsa. Womble Company also established a location in Oklahoma City to meet the expanding demand for its quality products.
In the early 1970s, with 50 years of outstanding service history in its past, The Womble Company and Pella Windows and Doors began its partnership together. In 1979, the family’s third generation of leadership joined the company with Steve Womble starting his career as a service man.
In 2017, Steve Womble stepped down to bring on Andy Crum and partner Doug Peterson as the new co-owners of the company. Formerly the Vice President of Replacement Sales and Marketing, Crum has been working with the company for over 20 years and Peterson, former Vice President of Operations, has been with Womble for almost 30 years. Crum’s wife, Ainslee Crum, will also be joining the team as the new CFO. With the Crum’s at the front of The Womble Company–Pella Windows and Doors of Oklahoma, it marks the fourth generation of the Womble family to own the company, after Ainslee’s great-grandfather established the company in 1922.
Today, The Womble Company remains one of the celebrated stories of Oklahoma’s business community. As we approach nearly 100 years in business, we never forget the values and commitment to quality that has brought us this far. Treating our customers with respect and offering a quality product at a fair price will, we hope, guide our company for 100 years to come.
