Project Details

Oklahoma City in the summertime can be extremely hot and muggy. To escape the heat, these Oklahoma City homeowners built a pool with a waterfall and a large patio in their backyard. The windows located on the rear of the home needed to be upgraded to patio doors to allow the family to fully enjoy their new entertaining space.

French Doors Open Backyard for Entertaining

Prior to the remodel, a group of three large picture windows provided an abundance of natural light, but blocked access to the backyard. With plans for a pool and a sprawling patio, the OKC homeowners wanted to open their patio area for entertaining purposes. We recommended two pairs of wood patio doors that swing outwards onto the patio. When hosting dinner parties, the homeowners can open both sets of French doors wide to let the party spill over onto the patio.

Durable Wood Protects Home from Elements

More than 8 feet tall, the exterior French doors deliver a timeless look. Made of our most customizable material, the homeowners were able to create a look that perfectly matches the windows throughout their home. Pella wood patio doors feature durable exterior aluminum cladding. It protects the doors from the elements, helping to resist fading, rot and corrosion and provide years of enduring beauty.

Energy-Efficient Glass Doors Keep Home Comfortable

The homeowners love that their new doors feature a multi-point locking system for enhanced security. It also helps increase energy efficiency by keeping the panels against the weather stripping in all types of extreme Oklahoma heat and storms. The durable wood doors also feature SunDefense™ glass, which can block up to 95% of UV rays, helping to reduce the fading of furniture and décor.

Overall, the customers love the new area they created for entertaining friends and family. The new French patio doors expand their usable living space and complement the home.
