“A window represents what this building looked like 90 years ago,” Pella Project Manager Jerry Murley said. “If you look at pictures from then, it looks the same when you stand across the street (today).”

Pella Windows & Doors of Omaha and Lincoln worked with the Nebraska City Veterans Memorial Building Project last summer to replace more than 120 windows and doors with custom, period-accurate Architect Series products to preserve the historical integrity of the 1929 building.

The building-wide preservation and renovation project has made the building usable again as a self- supporting, nonprofit community center for the citizens of Nebraska City and Otoe County, Nebraska.

“To bring this building back to life for this community; it’s probably the best job I ever did for Pella,” Murley said.

Jim Kuhn of Kuhn Construction in Nebraska City said the community deeply appreciates the beautiful-again facility. “It’s the talk of the town.”
