For the last several years, Omaha has ranked highly as one of the best places in America to raise a family. The last 2 years, achieving the #1 spot. One of the many reasons for this honor is the metro’s attention to detail and true passion for engaging families. Nowhere is this more evident than at The Omaha Children’s Museum.

The museum is always seeking new and exciting ways to capture young minds, and has been known for on hands-on education since 1976.

As The Omaha Children’s Museum celebrates 40 Years of Play, Pella® is proud to sponsor the sensory exploration children will enjoy at the permanent painting window exhibit at the museum.  The window is part of an expansion that includes the 2800 square foot Art Smart Station.

The exhibit is constructed of a durable fiberglass frame, and features Pella® Impervia® windows. The glass is made from Pella’s proprietary fiberglass* material – Pella’s five-layer, engineered fiberglass composite.

*Pella’s proprietary fiberglass material is the strongest material for windows and patio doors, engineered for lasting durability.
Disclosure: Pella’s proprietary fiberglass material has displayed superior strength over wood, vinyl, aluminum, wood/plastic composites, and other fiberglass materials used by leading national brands in tensile and 3-point bend tests performed in accordance with ASTM D638 and D790 testing standards.

“We love windows, and we refer to ourselves as window geeks” said Shawn Huyser, Retail General Manager at Pella® Omaha. “If there’s a way that we can get kids excited about windows, construction, just home-building… we’d love to be a part of that!”

Children are afforded a new view as the colors they love come together on the clear glass in ways they could only previously imagine. Creativity runs wild as scenes come alive. Parents are able to engage and enjoy the moment, with no worry of cleanup! The exhibit supplies washable paints, brushes, and encourages finger painting on the wall. A full sensory experience, the painting window will foster the artistry and creativity Pella® knows will make our children’s world a more beautiful place.

The Children’s Museum encourages children to learn in a fun, social, low-pressure environment. Artistic education has been proven to aid in the development of motor skills, social awareness, language advancement, creativity, and cultural awareness. Pella is grateful for the opportunity to play a part in the development of Omaha’s youth!
