Your windows make a big impact on the look and functionality of your home, but the right windows can also make your home cozier and help lower your energy bills. Let’s look at how Pella windows can help you stay comfortable in your Pittsburgh home year-round.

Energy Efficiency

Installing energy-efficient windows and doors is a great way to save on utility bills. Our windows are available in dual- or triple-pane glass that can help regulate the temperature in your home.

For example, energy-efficient windows reflect heat away from your home during the summer but help retain heat during the winter. Our professional installers also tightly secure your windows to prevent cold drafts from entering. This is important because drafts can cause your heating and cooling systems to work harder, resulting in higher energy bills.

Here are some window projects that we’ve worked on in the Pittsburgh area to improve the energy efficiency of a home:

This Beaver Falls, PA, home aimed to improve its energy efficiency and curb appeal. We installed black wood casement windows to modernize the home. Our Lifestyle Series windows have excellent energy efficiency and were able to help this homeowner keep their home comfortable.

This State College home also took advantage of our Lifestyle Series wood windows to fix their energy efficiency issues. We installed wood casement windows in their bay window to provide a beautiful solution for their home. The new windows also featured removable grilles. Overall, the wood windows increased the home’s energy efficiency.

These homeowners in State College, PA, wanted to improve their windows’ energy efficiency and maintain the classic wood look inside their home. We replaced the old window with our Lifestyle casement and bay windows. We put a beautiful wood stain on the interior to match the rest of the home’s aesthetic. We also added some charm to the window with a diamond pattern grille. The homeowners loved the new windows and are excited to have a more energy-efficient product.

Weather Resistance

Our windows have been tested to the extremes to ensure they will last and help keep your home comfortable during even the harshest storms. The tight weatherstripping on the windows covers the space between the window sash and the frame to reduce air leaks and prevent water from entering your home. Along with the weatherstripping, our insulating glass provides exceptional weather resistance.

Sound Resistance

With varying thicknesses and multiple window glass panes, your windows can offer more noise control. Noise control is excellent for rooms like your home office or a nursery. At Pella, we have dual- and triple-pane glass options with insulating gas between the panes to dampen the outside noises. Wood frames have natural insulating properties, which are better for reducing noise than aluminum frames. Our vinyl frames have up to eighteen insulating air chambers and optional foam insulation to help reduce sound transmission. Our fiberglass windows also have optional foam insulation to help keep the sound out.

Innovations

Easy-slide operator. We made the easy-slide operator with comfort in mind. The old crank design was difficult for many people, but our new easy-slide operator allows people of all ages to open and close their casement and awning windows easily.

Screens. Window screens are a great way to add more comfort and convenience to your home. For example, screens can let fresh air flow into your home without allowing in insects and keeping your pets safe inside. In addition, our innovative screens eliminate the need to take them in and out of your windows for cleaning.

Smart home technology. Smart home technology is all about providing you with comfort and peace of mind. For example, after incorporating this technology you can set up notifications that alert you to when your windows or doors are opened. Our smart home technology includes integrated window and door sensors, too. Your integrated blinds and shades can also utilize the Insynctive app or remote control to raise or lower them.

There are many benefits to choosing energy-efficient replacement windows, including enhanced style and greater functionality.  Our windows can help you improve your energy efficiency to help you feel comfortable in your home year-round.
