What can you tell me about your background?
My father is a general contractor, so I've been around various types of construction since I was a little boy. I have done a lot of remodeling work on my own house including tiling, painting, dry wall installation and repair, and woodworking. Many of my family members have been in the window replacement industry.
Are you originally from Richmond, Virginia?
I grew up in the West End of Richmond, I graduated from Tucker High then James Madison University where I majored in Sports & Recreation Management.
I’ve spent the last 6 years in different management roles with multiple companies including SCOR, American Family Fitness, and Tazza Kitchen.
What are some of your hobbies/Interest?
I love being outside. I love hiking, camping, apple picking and sports of any kind.
My cat acts more like a dog -- he loves to play fetch. I've trained him to stay before he's allowed to eat his food... which he eats as fast as physically possible.
What made you want to work at Pella?
I was managing at Tazza Kitchen one evening when I recognized our sales manager, Jason, with his wife and son. I stopped at their table and talked to them for a few minutes. Jason asked if I was keeping my career options open. We talked about having the ability to sell a great product and that he had an opportunity for me if I was interested. Jason called me a few days later and I came in for an interview and the rest is history. I loved the idea of working in the Richmond area because I’m close to my family. I had been looking for a great career with a flexible schedule. I’m a very hard worker with the passion for excellence, so I thought I’d be the perfect fit with a company who embraces the same ideals of excellence.
What do you consider your top three strengths?
My hard work ethic, my outgoing personality and my habit of staying organized.
What goals to you hope to accomplish while working at Pella?
I’d like to create a fruitful career while being able to travel the world.
I’d also really love to make Presidents' Club. Long term, I’d like to establish enough savings to be able to retire at 50 years old.
